EMPS EV Subsidy Scheme 2024 is A Good Choice to Buy Three & Two Wheelers in Discount

The Union Government has launched the e-Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS)to give huge discounts on Electric Three-Wheelers and Two-Wheelers. Buying an EV Vehicle under the EMPS Scheme 2024 is an excellent choice to get a higher Subsidy in 2024.

The Indian government has launched a new scheme called the Central e-Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS), which aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles. The government has already allocated Rs. 500 crores for this scheme, which provides a significant discount on purchasing electric vehicles, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government launched the scheme to promote e-mobility in India. On Wednesday, Union Heavy Industries Minister Mahendranath Pandey announced the e-Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS 2024). The government has allocated Rs. 500 crores for this scheme, valid for four months beginning April 1, 2021. The Union Minister stated that the government is committed to promoting e-mobility in India.

Under the new scheme, subsidies will be provided for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The subsidy will apply to 3.3 lakh electric two-wheelers, with a maximum subsidy amount of Rs. 10,000. E-rickshaws (small three-wheelers) will receive a subsidy of Rs. 31,000, while large three-wheelers will receive a subsidy of Rs. 25,000. Additionally, the government is offering a subsidy of Rs. 50,000 for large three-wheelers.

It is worth noting that the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles Second Phase (FAME-II) scheme, which the government launched earlier to promote electric vehicle manufacturing and consumption, will end on March 31, 2024. The government has clarified that it will not extend this deadline and has introduced a new scheme for electric vehicles.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has signed an MoU with IIT Roorkee to establish a Center of Excellence and Industry Accelerator for the transport sector, including electric vehicles. MHI has allocated Rs. 19.87 crore for this project, while industry partners will provide Rs. 4.78 crore.
