Swiggy, a direct competitor of Zomato, has successfully partnered with Indian Railways’ catering and ticketing division, IRCTC, to offer train food delivery services. Starting from March 12, Swiggy will deliver food on trains at Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada railway stations. This partnership aims to expand its reach to more stations across India in the future.
IRCTC Swiggy Food Order
Four free options are available to order food from Swiggy while travelling on a train.
- Firstly, visit IRCTC’s website at www.ecatering.irctc.co.in.
- Secondly, use the IRCTC’s railways food order app called ‘Food On Track‘.
- Thirdly, place an order using the WhatsApp number of the IRCTC eCatering service, which is 8750001323.
- And finally, call 1323 to order your favourite cuisine.
Although Zomato’s services are unavailable on 1323, you can still use the remaining three methods to order food from Zomato. Domino services are available on all four modes of order.
Swiggy Order While Running Train
Follow the simple steps below to order food from Swiggy on IRCTC’s eCatering portal:
- Visit https://www.ecatering.irctc.co.in/ and enter your PNR number.
- Choose the restaurant from which you want to order food.
- Select your desired food item and schedule your order.
- Pay online or choose the cash-on-delivery option.
Once the order is confirmed, Swiggy will deliver the food directly to your train seat. If you contact IRCTC on WhatsApp, you will be directed to the eCatering portal from the instant messaging app.
On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Indian Railways’ ticketing and e-catering unit proudly announced its partnership with Swiggy via its social media account on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter).
