Indian Motorcycle Brand sales are rising in foreign markets like last year; according to the Indian automotive industry report, the top five two-wheeler brands will have huge sales in the Abrod market by March 2024.
The two-wheeler segment significantly contributes to vehicle sales in the Indian automobile sector. It plays a fundamental role in domestic and foreign markets, with some Indian brands having more sales abroad. In February 2024, the top five two-wheeler brands exported abroad were Bajaj Motors India, TVS Motors, Honda Motorcycles and India, Hero MotoCorp, and Yamaha Motors.
Bajaj
Bajaj Motors India was the top exporter, with 1,24,157 units exported in February 2024, a growth rate of 7.9% compared to the same period last year. Bajaj’s Pulsar series is particularly popular in foreign markets.
TVS
TVS Motors, based in Hasur, was the second-largest exporter, with 90,308 two-wheelers exported in February 2024, a growth rate of 97.90% compared to February 2023. TVS Motors is also expanding its reach in the electric segment with the iQube electric scooter and the upcoming electric version of the TVS XL 100.
Honda
Honda Motorcycles and India stood third, with 44,744 units exported in February 2024, a growth rate of 122% compared to the same month last year. Although Honda is struggling in the Indian market, it is still a major player in foreign markets.
Hero
Hero MotoCorp, the top-selling two-wheeler brand in the Indian market, stood fourth with 23,148 units exported in February 2024. Hero MotoCorp has achieved significant growth in foreign markets, with a growth rate of 90.6% compared to February last year.
Yamaha
Finally, Yamaha Motors was fifth with 21,873 units exported in February 2024, a growth rate of 39.3% compared to the same month last year. Yamaha Motors sells CBUs manufactured in other countries in India and exports CBUs manufactured in India to foreign countries.
