There used to be many cars available for less than Rs. 5 lakh, but due to increased input costs, prices have gone up significantly. Only three cars are available for less than Rs. 5 lakh in the market: the Maruti Alto K10, Maruti S-Presso, and Renault Kwid. Maruti Suzuki Alto K10
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is currently the most affordable car in India after the company discontinued the Alto 800. It is available in two variants, Std and Lxi, with prices of less than Rs. 5 lakhs (ex-showroom). Both variants have good design and features. The Std variant is priced at Rs. 3.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), while the Lxi trim is priced at Rs. 4.83 lakhs (ex-showroom). Both variants feature the 1.0 litre K10C petrol engine that produces 67 PS of power and 89 Nm of torque. They come with a 5-speed manual transmission option and provide the best performance.
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is another model available for less than Rs. 5 lakhs. It is available in only one variant, priced at Rs. 4.26 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Maruti S-Presso gets a 1.0-litre petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission option. It is best in terms of design and features.
Renault Kwid
Renault Kwid is also available for less than Rs. 5 lakhs in two variants, RXE and RXL(O). The prices are Rs. 4.69 lakhs (ex-showroom) and Rs. 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), respectively. This car is now only available with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, whereas it used to be available with a 0.8-litre petrol engine. Both variants of the Renault Kwid are powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission option. The car is attractive in terms of design and features and offers the best performance. Currently, the company is offering a discount on the purchase of this car until March 31.
