MPV Launch in India: When it comes to electric cars, people who value comfort and have larger families tend to look for MPVs (Multi-Purpose Vehicles). If you are considering buying a large electric car, you may be interested in three MPVs that will soon be launched in India.
Growing Demand for Electric Cars:
As the trend for electric cars continues to grow in India, many companies are preparing to launch cars in this segment. While Tata currently dominates the electric car market in the country, other companies are also trying to expand their reach. Big companies like MG Motor, Maruti Suzuki, and Toyota are planning to launch electric MPVs in the near future.
MG Electric MPV: MG Motor recently announced a tie-up with JSW Group and plans to launch several models in the Indian market in 2026, including two electric cars.
Maruti Suzuki YMC: Maruti Suzuki is yet to enter the world of electric cars in India, but the company is expected to launch its first EV, the Maruti Suzuki EVX, in early 2025. There are also reports that Maruti may bring its first MPV to the market in 2026.
Toyota EV MPV: Toyota will launch an electric car based on the Maruti Franks in April 2021. There are also reports that the Japanese car company may bring a mid-size EV to the Indian market in 2025. Additionally, the Maruti Suzuki YMC electric car may also enter the market in 2026.
Tata Motors and Mahindra: Indian automobile manufacturers Tata Motors and Mahindra will also launch several new electric SUVs in the next few years. The Tata Curve electric coupe SUV will soon be launched, while the Mahindra XUV300 EV will enter the market by June 2024. The Tata Curve EV will be built on the Acti EV platform, which also houses the Punch EV. Tata’s new architecture supports all vehicle sizes and drivetrain setups (FWD, RWD, AWD).
