Leading electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric has launched a new electric scooter in its S1X series. The updated scooter will be launched on April 15, 2024, with all the special features of the previously introduced S1 Pro and Air models. Unlike the previous models, the updated version will have a physical key instead of a security code lock and unlock option.
The S1X and S1X Plus variants of the Ola S1X series are already available in the company’s portfolio, with 2, 3 and 4 kWh battery options. The company fixed the initial price of these models at Rs. 80,000. However, with the FAME 2 subsidy offered by the Center coming to an end, the company has recently stated that the new electric scooter will also be brought at a low price. The Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme has been made available, which offers a maximum subsidy of Rs. 10,000 only. The interest now is in how much Ola Electric will decide to price the new electric scooter.
According to photos shared on Twitter, the design of the updated version has not undergone major changes. However, the company is offering the vehicle in new colour options. Market sources suggest that the prices will likely increase as the new edition has new features. The prices of the latest edition of the S1X series are expected to grow from the current ones. The Ola S1 X 2 kilowatt hour scooter costs Rs. 80,000 (ex-showroom), while the Ola S1X 3 kilowatt hour scooter starts at Rs. 85,000. The top model Ola S1 X 4 kilowatt hour starts from Rs. 1.10 lakh.
